Uniting for global water resilience

Keep the River Running is built on the belief that meaningful water action requires collaboration. No single organization can address the growing pressure on the Colorado River on their own.

Behind Mina Guli is a team of partners working to drive the conversations and action needed to secure the future of the Colorado River.

Together with you, we can help turn urgency into action.

A collective commitment

From technology and innovation to advocacy, leadership and basin-level experience, each partner plays a distinct role in strengthening water resilience.

Keep the River Running is more than a campaign – it is a collective movement from intent to action.

Thirst Foundation

Turning ambition into action for water

Founded by Mina Guli in 2012, Thirst Foundation works to change how people think about water and inspire action at every level of society. Following a 15-year career in law, finance and climate change, Mina created Thirst to help address one of the world’s most urgent challenges: the global water crisis.

For over a decade, Thirst has evolved into a global platform for water advocacy and action. Through campaigns, partnerships and community movements such as Run Blue, the organisation works to mobilise governments, businesses and individuals to prioritise water and accelerate solutions.

Building a global movement for water

Concerned at the pace of change, Mina began using endurance challenges to demonstrate the power of setting big, audacious goals and doing the hard things needed to achieve them.

In 2018, Mina set out to run 100 marathons in 100 days. When she broke her leg at marathon 62, people around the world stepped forward to continue the journey. The Run Blue movement was born.

From 2022 to 2023, Mina ran 200 marathons across 32 countries, helping build Run Blue into the largest grassroots movement for water in history. Participants from more than 200 countries and territories joined the campaign, helping generate momentum ahead of the historic UN 2023 Water Conference and contributing to global commitments through the UN Water Action Agenda.

From global action to the Colorado River

Keep the River Running builds on more than a decade of work by Mina Guli and Thirst Foundation.

The campaign brings together communities, businesses, policymakers and water leaders around one of the most important rivers in the American West. Through a 2,000-mile journey along the Colorado River, Mina is helping create new opportunities for collaboration, elevate local voices and accelerate the action needed to strengthen water resilience across the basin.

Grundfos continues to advance solutions that help protect vital water resources and support the people and industries that depend on them.

Water Resilience Coalition

Turning urgency into collective water action

The Water Resilience Coalition (WRC) brings together global companies committed to protecting freshwater systems through collective, basin‑level action. As a Keep the River Running partner, the Coalition helps turn the growing awareness of water stress into coordinated efforts that strengthen water resilience where it is most needed.

From urgency to coordinated action

Mina Guli’s run along the Colorado River highlights the urgency of protecting freshwater resources. The Water Resilience Coalition helps turn that urgency into collective impact by:

  • Mobilizing corporate leadership around shared water goals
  • Supporting basin‑level initiatives in priority regions
  • Advancing long‑term strategies that strengthen water resilience

These efforts contribute towards building more secure water systems for the communities, economies and ecosystems that depend on the river.
